Megan Thee Stallion has announced that she will depart the Broadway production of Moulin Rouge! The Musical ahead of schedule.
The 31-year-old rapper’s final show will now be this Friday, May 1.
In a statement to The Independent, she said: “Unfortunately, my last performance on Moulin Rouge! The Musical will be May 1. It’s been such an honor to be part of Moulin Rouge and I’ve met so many amazing people in this theater!
“Y’all work so hard and I have so much respect for the dedication, the stamina, the work ethic, the time and the effort y’all put into the work! Every single person at the Moulin Rouge has inspired me to go harder as an entertainer.
“I’m so grateful for the cast and crew that made this experience so meaningful. Y’all are really some of the kindest human beings I’ve ever met! To all the Hotties that showed up or planned to attend, thank you for supporting me during this incredible journey!”

The news comes days after Megan Thee Stallion broke down in tears on stage hours after announcing her split from boyfriend Klay Thompson.
On Saturday (25 April), the “WAP” rapper posted on Instagram Stories, where she alleged that basketball player Thompson, 36, had cheated on her. He has not yet responded to the allegations.
In a statement to The Independent, Megan then confirmed that she and Thompson had split after less than a year of dating.
Just hours after announcing their split, Megan was back on stage, performing in the role of ringmaster Zidler in the hit Broadway musical. Megan joined the Tony-winning production in late March for an eight-week stint.
In a clip shared on TikTok, the musician could be seen turning away from the audience to wipe away her tears during the curtain call, with the show’s performers standing behind her and cheering her on.
Megan – whose full name is Megan Pete – gathered herself, wiping her tears from her hands before taking a bow.
It’s the second blow Megan has faced during her run in the show, after she was rushed to hospital mid-way through a performance in late March.
Megan subsequently cancelled two shows and wrote on social media that it had been “a real wake-up call for me”. “I’ve been pushing myself past my limits lately, running on empty, and my body finally said enough,” she said.

The rapper, who returned to the stage after two shows, first hinted at her split from Dallas Mavericks player Thompson on Saturday, when she shared a text-only post to Instagram claiming that he had been unfaithful.
“Cheating, had me around your whole family playing house…got ‘cold feet,’” she wrote.
“Holding you down through all your HORRIBLE mood swings and treatment towards me during your basketball season now you don’t know if you can be ‘monogamous’??? B**** I need a REAL break after this one…bye y’all.”
The split was then confirmed in a statement to The Independent, with Megan saying: “I’ve made the decision to end my relationship with Klay.
“Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward. I’m taking this time to prioritise myself and move ahead with peace and clarity.”
The pair began dating in spring 2025 and confirmed their relationship at a red carpet event in July 2025. Speaking at the time, Megan called the NBA star “the nicest person I’ve ever met in my life”.
