The Dallas Cowboys have added star wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling to their roster as Jerry Jones looks to bolster his Super Bowl charge.

Valdes-Scantling, a two-time Super Bowl winner with the Kansas City Chiefs, has inked a one-year deal with the Cowboys, according to NFL insider Tom Pelissero. The exact terms of the contract were not immediately known.

The 31-year-old wideout was a fifth-round pick by the Green Bay Packers out of USF back in 2018.

Valdes-Scantling played out his four-year, $2.6million deal in Green Bay before signing a three-year contract worth with the Chiefs as an unrestricted free agent in 2022.

Kansas City handed the receiver the $30m deal in the hope that Patrick Mahomes could turn the former Packers wide receiver into a viable deep threat.

But while Valdes-Scantling had memorable moments in Kansas City, including a touchdown catch in the Super Bowl, he was plagued by dropped passes and never put up the numbers the Chiefs expected of him.

He had 42 catches for 687 yards and two scores in 2022 and only 21 catches for 315 yards and a touchdown in the 2023 season.

The Chiefs ultimately released him in early 2024 just weeks after he scored a touchdown in their Super Bowl victory over the San Francisco 49ers.

Since then, Valdes-Scantling has bounced around the league. Following his release from the Chiefs, he has had brief stints with the Buffalo Bills, New Orleans Saints and Seattle Seahawks.

Most recently, the Florida native suited up for the San Francisco 49ers and the Pittsburgh Steelers last season.

He appeared in 10 games last season, splitting time between San Francisco and Pittsburgh. He caught 14 passes for 120 yards and a touchdown.

Valdes-Scantling has registered 219 receptions for 3,686 yards and 21 touchdowns throughout his seven-season career in the league.

His two Lombardi Trophies came with the Chiefs when Kansas City went back-to-back in 2023 and 2024.
