Resurgent Red Devils

While Manchester United are obviously nowhere near ‘back’, as proved by the need for protests, things are looking up again.

Michael Carrick has them looking like their former selves again.

In his two games, he has led United to victories over bitter rivals Manchester City and league leaders Arsenal. Not bad, eh?

But what was the common denominator in both of those games?

That’s right, they were the underdogs. Against City and Arsenal, United could counter ferociously as they didn’t have the ball as much. That won’t be the case against Fulham.

There is now an air of expectancy that the Red Devils should beat the Cottagers, which hasn’t served these players well in the past.

It’s a different type of test for Carrick today. Will he pass it?
