A man has been arrested on suspicion of raping a child as part of a police investigation into historical sex abuse in Manchester.
The 52-year-old was also detained on suspicion of facilitating the commission of a child sex offence in 2007.
Officers arrested him at a property in Longsight as part of their ongoing investigation into non-recent child sexual exploitation in south Manchester, known as Operation Green Jacket.
He remains in custody for questioning.
Greater Manchester Police launched Operation Green Jacket following allegations of abuse from victims in the early 2000s.
They said they were “working with survivors to build strong evidence packages to support prosecutions” against criminals.
