If only Pep Guardiola had Tom Cruise at his disposal tonight, eh?

It’s been six days since Manchester City’s capitulation in Madrid, and to be honest, I still can’t get over it.

I thought City had got all of this ‘being rubbish’ out of their system and were themselves again. Obviously not, because last week at the Bernabeu was one of the worst defensive performances I have ever seen from them under Guardiola.

Federico Valverde ripped them apart in the first half, bagging an insane hat-trick, and they are lucky that nobody added to that in the second.

It’s going to take something special, truly special, like Cruise’s motorcycle cliff jump in Dead Reckoning: Part One type special, for Guardiola’s side to overtake this.

Do I think they are capable of it? Nope, not after seeing how they played during their 1-1 draw with West Ham.

But is it over? Technically, not yet.
