The wife of a Manchester United star has revealed she will not be heading to Bilbao to cheer on her husband in Wednesday’s Europa League final against Tottenham.
Ruben Amorim’s side are set to play in their biggest game of the season as they look to rescue their campaign by winning silverware and earning a place in next season’s Champions League.
The team looked the part as they were fitted in £1,000 Paul Smith suits on Monday ahead of their flight to Spain, but they must now deliver on the pitch.
Many of the players’ family and friends will be in the stands to support United in their quest for glory, but Victor Lindelof’s wife, Maja, has confirmed she will be staying at home for the final due to being heavily pregnant.
Taking to Instagram on Monday, Maja posted on her Story a photo of her baby bump alongside the caption: ‘This week’s plan – eat chocolate and sleep’.
Victor and Maja wedded in their homeland of Sweden in May 2018 and have two sons, aged six and three, together.

Maja is heavily pregnant with the couple’s third child and will not fly so close to her due date
Instead, Maja has revealed her plans are to eat chocolate and sleep as she looks to relax before giving birth
Maja is due to give birth to their third child imminently, and has made the decision not to head overseas so close to her due date.
She will remain at home with their sons, Ted Louie and Francis, who were involved in a worrying incident that forced her husband to leave United’s Europa League win over Lyon at half time last month.
The reason behind Lindelof’s swift exit was not immediately clear at the time, but Maja took to social media a couple of days later to explain the situation.
‘An hour before the [Lyon] game started, our babysitter called and said they were in an ambulance on the way to hospital,’ she wrote.
‘My youngest son Francis had split his entire head open. He had been chasing his big brother Ted Louie at home, and fallen into our glass staircase.
‘His forehead was in two parts. He was in hospital both Thursday and Friday.
‘He had to have plastic surgery to put his forehead back together. He was put under anaesthetic.
‘It is the first time I have experienced something like this happening with one of my children.
The Lindelofs have been married since 2018 and have two sons together
Maja revealed last month that one of her sons split his head open, leading to her husband leaving Man United’s win over Lyon mid-match
‘It was incredibly unpleasant, and not something I want to experience again.
‘The operation went well, and Francis is back on track. He is a Viking, and back to normal.
‘Everyone was so worried, but he continues his life as if nothing has happened.
‘The doctors say he will have a big scar on his forehead. But never mind – I’m just happy that it went so well.’
Following his son’s surgery, Lindelof returned to the United squad. He has made six appearances in his side’s run to the Europa League final, and could be in line to start in Bilbao.
Amorim has some late calls to make on his backline, with Matthijs de Ligt and Leny Yoro both missing recent matches due to injury.
