A “devoted dad” who travelled to Spain to watch Manchester City take on Villarreal died just hours before he got chance to see them play, his family has said.
Guy Bradshaw, 35, from Wythenshawe, Manchester, died after travelling to watch Tuesday night’s Champions League clash, using Benidorm as a base with friends.
Writing on a fundraising page set up to help with “bringing him home”, his family said they were “heartbroken” after he “passed away suddenly”.
Manchester City said it was “deeply saddened” and everyone at the club “sends their condolences to his family, friends, and fellow fans during this difficult time”.
His friend Eddie Williamson, who helped the family launch the fundraiser, said Mr Bradshaw was found in bed and there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.
The page has so far raised more than £20,000.
