Businesses are urged to sign up to this campaign which is designed to boost visibility, drive footfall and encourage people to spend locally

Newry, Mourne and Down District Council is calling on businesses to register their interest for the Make It Local Summer 2026 marketing campaign, an initiative designed to boost visibility, drive footfall and encourage people to spend locally.

The campaign will have a packed calendar of major events, festivals and seasonal attractions taking place across the district which will create valuable opportunities for participating businesses to benefit from increased visitor numbers and consumer activity during peak periods.

From retail and hospitality to tourism, services and emerging start-ups, businesses of all sizes are encouraged to get involved. Make It Local aims to showcase the diversity and strength of the district’s business community, from town centres to rural areas.

Campaign details

Selected participants will benefit from a professionally delivered promotional package, including

  • digital storytelling
  • social media campaigns
  • targeted advertising
  • print and outdoor promotion
  • high-quality photography and video content

The campaign is a valuable opportunity to raise your profile, connect with customers and be part of a wider campaign that celebrates everything local.
