Love Island USA is off to the races for this summer with a wild season eight premiere.
Tuesday night’s brand new episode introduced the 10 starting islanders — noticeably missing Vasana Montgomery, who was removed from the cast days before the premiere and not mentioned at all in the episode — who will spend the summer starring in Peacock’s hit reality series: Aniya Harvey, Beatriz Hatz, Bryce Dettloff, KC Chandler, Kenzie Annis, Melanie Moreno, Sean Reifel, Sincere Rhea, Trinity Tatum and Zach Georgiou.
After a risque kissing game and an initial coupling up that was predictably decided by first impressions, the first five couples — Hatz and Reifel, Annis and Georgiou, Tatum and Dettloff, Harvey and Chandler, and Moreno and Rhea — spent the night together and had a day to test the waters of their newfound connections.
However, the next night took a turn when host Ariana Madix returned to the Fiji villa to discover how each of the couples really felt about the future of their pairings.
After Hatz, Georgiou, Tatum and Dettloff all indicated that they were ready to explore new connections rather than their initial choice, two new bombshells immediately waltzed into the competition to shake up the short-lived couplings as the visibly shocked islanders could only watch.
Bombshells Gabriel Vasconcelos and Kayda took turns kissing each of the islanders who were unhappy in their couples and wanting to explore. Kayda left the villa with Georgiou and Dettloff, while Vasconcelos left with Hatz and Tatum.
While the nearly two-hour episode ended without a clear explanation of where the bombshells were taking their potential connections, the teaser for the second episode showed that fans can expect more twists to come.
Teaser footage showed Annis and Reifel left single and rattled in the villa after the bombshells took their partners, while Annis was seen crying and saying in a confessional, “I feel like I just always pick cheaters.”
The two new contestants entered the villa after Montgomery who was initially confirmed to enter the villa, was dismissed from the dating series. Social media posts surfaced where Montgomery could be heard saying racial slurs, which led to her exit.

Vasconcelos was initially supposed to enter the villa as an original cast member, but was turned into a bombshell instead after Montgomery was dismissed from the show in order to make the first couplings even.
His initial cast bio said that he is from Miami and planned to bring “Brazilian fire” to the Love Island villa. He speaks English, Spanish and Portuguese.
Viewers are expecting to learn more about Kayda during the next installment of the show, which airs new episodes six days a week.
Episode two premieres Wednesday, June 3, at 9 p.m. Eastern.
