Local Government Association Adult Social Care Preparation for Assurance Peer Challenge
Decision Maker: Cabinet
Decision status: Recommendations Approved (subject to call-in)
Is Key decision?: No
Is subject to call in?: Yes
Decision:
That the Torbay
Council Adult Social Care Preparation for Assurance Peer Challenge
action plan be approved as set out in Appendix 2 to the submitted
report.
Reasons for the decision:
The progression of the
action plan would assist in improving the adult social care related
experiences of Torbay Residents.
Alternative options considered:
Not to accept the LGA
Peer Challenge on Adult Social Care Preparation for Assurance and
resulting action plan – this was not recommended as
implementation of the action plan would enable the Adult Social
Care and the Council to continue to improve. Alternative or additional actions could have been
proposed.
Implementation:
This decision will
come into force and may be implemented on 31 March 2025 unless the
call-in procedure is triggered (as set out in the Standing Orders
in relation to Overview and Scrutiny).
Information:
In June 2024 Torbay
Council invited the Local Government Association to undertake a
Peer Challenge on Adult Social Care Preparation for
Assurance. Following receipt of the
feedback report an action plan was developed.
At the meeting
Councillor Tranter proposed and Councillor Bye seconded a motion
that was agreed unanimously by the Cabinet, as set out above.
