Former LSU gymnast and social media star Livvy Dunne revealed a surprise interaction in her DMs with Andrew Tate that had her considering shutting down her Instagram account.
Tate, the controversial social media influencer, was arrested in Miami on Saturday along with his brother, Tristan, on multiple sex crime charges.
The brothers – who made their name by producing far-right ‘manosphere’ content aimed at young men to influence them to be more performatively masculine – face extradition to the United Kingdom.
As reported by the BBC, the brothers faced a combined 59 charges where they are accused of rape, sex trafficking, and possession of indecent images of a child among others.
During an interview at last weekend’s Fanatics Fest in New York City, Dunne was asked about the ‘funniest’ DM that she’s ever received and recalled the story of when Andrew Tate sent her a message.
‘Oh my God, the funniest DM. I think it’s from like certain people that just get me weak,’ Dunne explained.

‘I know this is controversial. Andrew Tate one time messaged me and I was like, I need to like delete Instagram forever. And then his account got deactivated and that was that.’
The reporter asking her the question was left stunned and open-mouthed over the admission.
‘Oh my god, I would delete my own Instagram too after that point,’ the reporter said.
The brothers are also under criminal investigation in Romania, where they are based.
After their arrest, lawyer Matt Jury, who represents several alleged British victims of Andrew Tate, said (via the BBC): ‘Andrew and Tristan Tate are accused of some of the most serious offenses, including multiple counts of rape and human trafficking. It is time they face justice’.
Meanwhile, the Tates’ lawyer, Joseph McBride, proclaimed his clients’ innocence in a statement after their arrest: ‘Their enemies know it best of all. That is exactly why they have been attacked.’
McBride added, ‘We are confident that once a competent judge sees the facts, and once the Department of Justice confronts this egregious abuse of its own authority, Andrew and Tristan Tate will walk free.’
