Lil Wayne left fans outraged after he failed to take the stage at the opening night of his “20 Years of Carter Classics” tour Tuesday in Maine.

The rapper, 43, was scheduled to headline the first stop of the tour at Bangor’s Maine Savings Amphitheater, but after opener 2 Chainz performed and a DJ kept the crowd entertained, Lil Wayne never appeared.

His set had been scheduled to begin at 10:45 p.m., but by 11 p.m. the crowd was informed the show was over.

No explanation was given for why the Grammy winner missed the performance.

Waterfront Concerts President Alex Gray apologized to the crowd, saying it was the first time something like this had happened in the company’s 251-show history, according to local station WABI.

Gray said the venue requested a curfew extension from the city and did everything possible to make the concert happen.

Fans didn’t hold back their disappointment.

“Well, I came here for Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz, and it was the most terrible experience,” concertgoer Rita Sack told outlet. She said she drove more than six hours from Nova Scotia to attend the show.

“Never mind the money. It’s like, moments in life and that was going to be a moment,” she continued. “[My friend] left her six-month baby for the first time. Like, it’s people’s time. Just don’t waste people’s time.”

“We paid for Lil Wayne. The least you can do is come out for a minute, apologize, you know?” Sack added. “Like, just take the moment and be like, ‘Hey guys, sorry, not feeling it, feeling a little sick.’”

Lil Wayne — who was recently reported to be engaged to a woman in her 20s — also faced backlash online after posting unrelated content to X on Wednesday morning, with fans filling the comments to criticize him for skipping the concert.

“You’re a POS for wasting(sic) Bangors money!!!!” one person wrote.

“I was front row at the Maine show! My fiancé and I were so excited to see you! It was a gift for her and you ruined the night by not showing up!” another responded.

Later Wednesday night, Lil Wayne apologized to fans on Instagram and announced that the concert had been rescheduled for July 28.

“My Maine fans, I’m so sorry,” he wrote. “Please hold on to your tickets, they will be honored for the rescheduled date. More information will be emailed directly to ticket holders.

Lil Wayne later apologized on Instagram and announced the Bangor show would be rescheduled for July 28.

“I ain’t s— without you. I can’t wait to come back and give you the show you deserve.”

The rapper is currently scheduled to perform Thursday at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs, NY, before heading to BankNH Pavilion in Guilford, NH, on Friday.

The “20 Years of Carter Classics” tour is an extension of Lil Wayne’s 2025 “Tha Carter VI Tour” and is scheduled to run through October with additional stops in Chicago, Long Beach, Calif., Denver and Fort Worth, Texas.
