Wrestling great Jeff Jarrett has opened up on his surprise bond with Taylor Swift, revealing how the singer helped his family through their darkest hour.
In an interview with OutKick, the WWE Hall of Famer Jarrett discussed living in the same Tennessee city, Hendersonville, as a teenage Swift after her family left her childhood home in Pennsylvania.
Host Chad Withrow made reference to their friendship as he introduced Jarrett, saying: ‘See, I know Hendersonville, Hutton, as the home of Double J, Jeff Jarrett. I’m sure others know Hendersonville as the home of some pop star named Taylor Swift.’
Jarrett laughed and replied: ‘She was my babysitter! All kidding aside, she was very good to my girls when my first wife passed away.’
Withrow interjected: ‘This is true, by the way! Taylor Swift was a babysitter for double J’s kids.’
Jarrett continued: ‘I can assure you this, she has never been on my payroll! But no, she’s very good and her family were very good to me and my kids, the girls got to be in a video.
Wrestler Jeff Jarrett has revealed how Taylor Swift helped his daughters when his wife died

Jarrett revealed that a teenage Swift was also his babysitter when she lived in Nashville
‘But Taylor I think is the most famous Hendersonville personality. I’ll happily be a distant whatever from her.’
Jarrett’s daughters were in the video for Swift’s 2010 song ‘Mine’. The wrestling hero then joked about potentially attending the singer’s wedding to Travis Kelce, which is believed to be in June this year.
‘A very hardcore fan told me that there are odds on that,’ Jarrett joked. ‘Maybe I could get a little back-end money if I can get the invite list.’
Last September, speaking to TMZ, Jarrett again praised Swift for keeping an eye on his daughters after the death of his wife.
‘When my wife passed away, Taylor would come around, and was really good with the girls,’ he said.
‘It was Christmas of 2006. My first wife was really ill with breast cancer. She passed away about five months after.
‘A friend of Taylor’s said, “Hey, why don’t you drop by?” Obviously, like every little girl in America, my daughters were big Taylor fans. Her songs had just kind of broke but she was the hometown girl so she broke a lot quicker here in town than around the world.
‘She came over and didn’t bring her guitar in. She actually ran back home that day because the girls wanted her to sing and play. Taylor played about three hours and it ended up probably 35 or 45 people at the end of it.’
Swift is set to marry Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce later in the summer
Swift and Kelce announced their engagement last August but details of their wedding since then have been scarce.
The Kansas City Chiefs star Kelce is widely expected to announce his plan to keep on playing in the NFL in the coming days.
The 36-year-old left the door open to retirement at the end of the 2025 season, with the Chiefs missing out on the postseason and Kelce’s contract expiring.
