It’s that time of the year again – the transfer window is now open until September 1 and it’s sure to be a busy period with clubs looking to make big signings ahead of next season.

Here are today’s latest developments from Simon Jones and the Daily Mail Sport team…

Garnacho attracting interest

Two Champions League clubs are among those showing interest in Alejandro Garnacho, who will be allowed to leave Chelsea this summer.

The former Manchester United winger joined last August for a fee worth up to £40million, which included a 10 per cent sell-on clause.

Clarets defender heading for Spain

Burnley left back Quilindschy Hartman has joined Spanish side Espanyol on a season-long loan.

The defender joined the Clarets from Feyenoord in June 2025, making 21 Premier League appearances with five assists last season.

Toon agree deal for Ajax ace

Newcastle have agreed a £19.6m deal with Ajax for Sean Steur.

The fee will rise to £22.6m with add-ons for the 18-year-old midfielder who is set to join on a five-year deal.

The Netherlands Under-19 international has made 25 appearances for Ajax and is regarded as a top talent.

However, Ajax need funds to strengthen their squad and also have young Belgian midfielder Jorthy Mokio who can play in the same role.

They have also asked for a 12.5 per cent sell-on clause.

Ipswich beat Hull to Brazilian striker

Ipswich are closing on a deal for Toulouse striker Emersonn.

Hull City had made the early running for the 21-year-old but Ipswich are finalising terms with the fee, including bonuses, worth just under £20m.

Toulouse also want a sell-on clause in the agreement.

Emersonn is due to travel for his medical and will become the first signing of Gary O’Neil’s tenure at Portman Road.
