The Los Angeles Rams billed their new uniforms online as ‘cleaner,’ ‘bolder,’ and the ‘first step in expanding our closet.’
Fans, however, were left struggling to find a discernible difference between the team’s 2025 and 2026 uniforms.
‘This just made the closest even smaller,’ one joked on X.
‘Those look exactly the same,’ another added, echoing a comment made by countless others. ‘What am I missing here?’
The team even cut a video for the ‘new’ uniform release, but that failed to shed any light on the matter.

When the camera does cut wide enough for a full-framed view of the 2026 Rams jerseys, they look remarkably similar to what Eric Dickerson wore in the 1980s or what Jerome Bettis wore in the early 1990s.
The team did tweak its color scheme after moving to St. Louis from 1995 until 2015, but have gone back to the basics in recent years on everything besides the odd ‘color rush’ alternate uniform.
As for those who could detect a difference between the ‘old’ Rams jerseys and the supposedly updated version, the reactions were mixed.
‘I still wish you would have gone with a more collegiate/block style number, but aside from that, I dig the subtle necessary changes with the shoulder horns and removing the name tag,’ read one surprisingly specific response. ‘The gradients were the biggest issue, so glad they’re gone.’
‘Close enough to the 80’s, but better than last years!’ another read. ‘Go back to wearing gold pants with all jerseys’
Several were pleased with the updates.
‘Definitely an improvement,’ one wrote. ‘Ditch the blue pants. They are unnecessary. If you don’t wanna go full white, then the white jersey looks better with yellow pants. On the yellow pants, you didn’t need the white stripe. So much cleaner with just a simple blue stripe.’
