Kelly Osbourne has hit out at online critics after she made an appearance at the Brit Awards to honor her late father, Ozzy.
At the awards show on Saturday in Manchester, England, Ozzy Osbourne was given a posthumous lifetime achievement award.
The Black Sabbath frontman, who died aged 76 last July just over two weeks after his “Back To The Beginning” farewell concert where he reunited with his bandmates, was celebrated for his profound impact on music.
However, many on social media focused on his 41-year-old daughter’s appearance. After the show, Osbourne wrote on her Instagram Stories: “There is a special kind of cruelty in harming someone who is clearly going through something.
“Kicking me while I’m down, doubting my pain, spreading my struggles as gossip, and turning your back when I need support and love most.

“None of it proves strength; it only reveals a profound absence of compassion and character. I’m currently going through the hardest time in my life. I should not even have to defend myself. But I won’t sit here and allow myself to be dehumanized in such a way!”
During the show itself, Kelly joined her mother Sharon Osbourne onstage to pay tribute to Ozzy.
“If Ozzy was here tonight with us, he would be showing us that gorgeous smile that he had and I know he would be so proud to receive this from the country that he loved,” said Sharon. “So he may not be here, but he left us one amazing body of work that will never be forgotten by the country that made him.”
Last month, the Osbournes also attended a tribute at the Grammys. At that time, Kelly opened up about her grief and said: “I’m not doing so great.” She said about her father’s death, “It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever been through in my life. We’re doing everything we can to live in his legacy and be happy.”
Last December, she posted a since-deleted Instagram video in which she addressed those who criticized her weight loss and said: “all those people, f*** off”.

The former co-host of The View said: “To the people who keep thinking they’re being funny and mean by writing comments like ‘Are you ill,’ or ‘Get off Ozempic, you don’t look right,’ my dad just died, and I’m doing the best that I can, and the only thing I have to live for right now is my family.”
