Katy Perry and Ruby Rose reportedly had “too much to drink” the night the latter was allegedly sexually assaulted in a Melbourne, Australia, bar more than 15 years ago.
“They were drunk, they weren’t paralytic or anything … just like any other person drinking at a nightclub,” a former club manager for Spice Market told the Herald Sun on Tuesday. “They came in together, they were also with Katy’s hair and makeup girl, and another guy who was friends with Ruby.”
According to the businessman, the night turned into a “security nightmare” with 600 people at the club. He claimed Perry at one point was allegedly “right in the middle of the mosh pit.”
The ex-manager claimed he did not see any alleged sexual assault take place, or any vomiting, referring to Rose’s allegations that she threw up when Perry allegedly assaulted her.
Per the businessman, Perry and Rose — who also spent time in a private VIP area of the club with friends — were eventually escorted out through a back entrance by security and into a private car.
“Being conscious of them both being public figures, we didn’t want someone taking photos of them drunk like that,” he recalled. “We always protected them as much as we could.”
Reps for Perry and Rose did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
As Page Six previously reported, Perry vehemently denied allegations that she assaulted Rose after the “Orange Is the New Black” alum made a series of damaging claims against her via Instagram Threads over the weekend.
“Katy Perry sexual (sic) assaulted me at spice market nightclub in Melbourne. Who gives a s–t what she thinks,” Rose wrote in response to Perry watching Justin Bieber’s performance at the 2026 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival.
The “John Wick: Chapter 2” star further claimed that she hasn’t spoken up about the alleged encounter for two decades, but is now “so grateful to have made it long enough to find [her] voice.”
“It just shows how much of an impact trauma and sexual assault takes,” she added. “Thank you for seeing me.”
“Ms. Rose has a well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals, claims that have repeatedly been denied by those named,” the “E.T.” singer’s rep said.
While a rep for Rose didn’t respond to Perry’s denial, the “Dirty Angels” star took to Threads to recount the alleged incident.
“She didn’t kiss me. She saw me ‘resting’ on my best friend’s lap to avoid her and bent down, pulled her underwear to the side and rubbed her disgusting vagina on my face until my eyes snapped open and I projectile vomited on her,” Rose alleged.
“After it I threw up on her, I told the story publicly but changed it to be a ‘funny little drunk story’ because I didn’t know how else to handle it.”
“Later she agreed to help me get my US visa. So I kept it a secret. But I DID tell yall she wasn’t a good person.”
Melbourne officials announced Tuesday that they were investigating Perry and the bombshell allegations against her following Rose’s claims.
