The Kansas City Chiefs are facing a nervy wait on the status of Hollywood Brown after the wide receiver left practice on Tuesday with an ankle injury.
Brown missed almost the entire regular season last year with a shoulder problem before returning for five games including the playoffs.
And there are now fears he could face another long spell on the sidelines after he was seen leaving practice on a cart.
Head coach Andy Reid confirmed after practice that the speedy receiver had sustained an ankle injury.
‘I haven’t seen him yet, but they took him up,’ Reid told reporters.
‘So I don’t know right now. I don’t think it’s too bad but we’ll see.’
Reid also announced that Brown’s fellow receiver Skyy Moore had a hamstring issue, while he noted that second-year wideout Xavier Worthy ‘banged his head’ during the practice.
Worthy appeared to injure his head during a diving catch, as he reportedly went to the medical tent afterwards.
He also was unable to finish practice, though he was spotted standing on the sideline with his helmet in his hands.
Worthy had a promising rookie year for the Chiefs as he posted 638 receiving yards, and he impressed with a 157-yard, two touchdown performance in the Super Bowl despite his team’s blowout loss to the Eagles.
