Kai Havertz has been brutally mocked by fans after he missed two major opportunities to convert against Manchester United in the FA Cup on Sunday.
United progressed to the fourth round with a 5-3 win on penalties after goals from Bruno Fernandes and Gabriel Magalhaes made the third-round clash go the full distance.
The forward missed a chance to win the game from six yards in the 88th minute and was the only player to miss his spot-kick in the penalty shoot-out.
Fans pilloried Havertz with a series of memes, with pizza chain Domino’s even getting in on the act, sharing a picture of him and writing on X: ‘Sorry if we’ve missed any orders tonight, we’ve just had this guy start.’
Another account shared a popular clip of a clearly untalented basketballer missing multiple throws to signify Havertz’s wasted opportunities.
Meanwhile, another branded Havertz ‘the reason they don’t go through’.

Another posted a video of a viral Havertz’s lookalike from social media tucking into a rather unappetising-looking meal and wrote: ‘Havertz highlights vs Manchester United.’
One fan, seemingly of Chelsea allegiance, posted a clip of a utopian society and wrote: ‘Havertz doesn’t play for Chelsea anymore’.
After a tepid first half, the game exploded into life after the interval with Fernandes giving his side the lead at the Emirates.
Shortly after United were reduced to ten men when Diogo Dalot was shown a second yellow card for a mistimed challenge on Mikel Merino.
Mikel Arteta’s side quickly utilised their advantage and Gabriel put the Gunners back on level terms with a deflected volley.
Havertz found himself at the heart of the action when referee Andrew Madley pointed to the spot after he ruled Harry Maguire had brought Havertz down inside the box.
The decision proved highly contentious among the United players, and a melee subsequently broke out between the two teams that saw Havertz knocked off his feet.
Martin Odegaard stepped up to take the spot kick but was denied by a fine save from Altay Bayindir as the game remained level.
Arsenal continued to press in their hunt for an equaliser and looked to have a golden opportunity to take the lead when the ball dropped for Havertz inside the six-yard box with just minutes remaining.
The former Chelsea forward brought the ball down deftly but improbably blasted his subsequent strike flying over the crossbar, with the game ultimately progressing into extra time.
Havertz’s evening would ultimately go from bad to worse as the game remained level and was decided by a penalty shootout.
