Actor Justin Theroux has become a father for the first time, as his wife Nicole Brydon Bloom announced that she has given birth to their first child, a baby boy.
Bloom, also an actor who has appeared in HBO series The Gilded Age and the Hulu series Paradise, shared the news with her followers on Saturday 18 April.
Sharing a black-and-white photo of Theroux, 54, holding their son close to his chest, she added the caption: “He’s here… we are so in love.”
Bloom, 32, did not disclose the name of their son with her followers.
A number of the couple’s famous friends shared their congratulations with Bloom. American actor Brenda Song wrote: “CONGRATS!!! So happy for you guys!”
Queer Eye star Tan France commented: “My loves!! I’m so happy for you guys,” while The Vampire Diaries actor Nina Dobrev remarked, “He’s perfect.”
The happy news comes two months after Bloom revealed she told the Leftovers star she was pregnant over breakfast, telling Today that she did “the classic thing you see in movies”.
“He was like, ‘How?!’” she recalled, “And I was like, ‘Well, I can walk you through it. It was a team effort.’”
She said the couple, who married in March last year, “weren’t entirely planning” the pregnancy but were “excited to start a family”.
Theroux was previously in a six-year relationship with Friends star Jennifer Aniston, whom he met while they were shooting the film Wanderlust in 2011.
He was first reported to be dating Bloom in February 2023 when they were spotted at a Netflix event; they made their red-carpet debut at the 2024 Vanity Fair Oscars party.
They revealed the news of Bloom’s pregnancy in December last year, when she attended the Fallout season two premiere with a visible baby bump.
Theroux then shared a subtle celebration of the news on Instagram with a mirror photo in which his partner’s bare stomach was on display, and the caption: “What an incredible holiday season so far.”
