Karl-Anthony Towns’ girlfriend Jordyn Woods has revealed she recently lost one of her closest friends to breast cancer – after sparking fears over the New York Knicks star’s health with a cryptic post on social media.
Woods, the American model and TV personality who has dated Towns for five years, raised concerns when she posted ‘f**k cancer’ on X hours after her beau missed New York’s 114-102 loss to the Golden State Warriors due to ‘personal reasons’.
Knicks nation was left fearing the worst after the center was absent from Tuesday’s game, before breathing a collective sigh of relief when it was revealed that he is set to return to the lineup for Thursday night’s clash with the LA Lakers.
And two days after her two-word message on X, Woods took to Instagram to clarify that she attended the funeral of ‘one of the closest people to me’ on Wednesday after losing her to breast cancer.
‘Thank you for all of your prayers and concern,’ she wrote on her story Thursday. ‘I had to bury one of the closest people to me yesterday after she lost her battle to breast cancer.

She then shared a photo of a woman, believed to be the friend in question, posing with Towns
‘Life isn’t always fair. She will be missed tremendously.’
Woods then shared a photo of Towns posing with an unnamed woman, which appears to be the late friend in question, and included dove and heart emojis.
The socialite, who used to be close friends with Kylie Jenner, lost her own father to cancer back in 2017.
Actor and die-hard Knicks fan Ben Stiller was one of many who shared their consolations to Woods before she clarified her ‘f**k cancer’ post.
‘Agree,’ the die-hard Knicks fan wrote, adding several blue and orange heart emojis.
Tuesday’s defeat to Golden State was the sixth game Towns has missed this season. New York is 3-3 in his absence.
After being traded to the Knicks from the Minnesota Timberwolves ahead of the 2024-25 campaign, the 27-year-old is now averaging 24.5 points and 13.4 rebounds per game.
