John Terry has been recovering from his London Marathon efforts on Sunday – and shared an intimate snap of his wife Toni ‘looking after me’ in the aftermath.
The five-time Premier League winner and Chelsea legend was among several former top-flight pros taking part in the famous annual event. He completed the course in five hours and 43 seconds.
Terry could be seen walking at around 21 miles with a pained expression on his face as a stream of what appeared to be blood from his nipple ran down his white t-shirt. The 44-year-old also looked to be limping.
He was running to raise money for the charity Rays of Sunshine, which helps children and young people living in the UK with a life-threatening or life-limiting illness.
Speaking after the run, Terry said he was ‘feeling sore’ after a ‘tough’ race, but that he was ‘pleased’ to have raised money for his cause.
In his recovery, meanwhile, he shared a snap to his 8.7million Instagram followers on Monday morning of Toni, 44, massaging his leg – and he couldn’t resist what appeared to be a crude joke.

‘@toniterry26 looking after me this morning,’ he posted alongside the snap. ‘I’m just stiff in all the wrong places’. He added three laughing emojis at the end of the caption.
The photo showed Terry laid out on a bed, with Toni straddling his leg in what appeared to be pyjamas.
She could be seem massaging the top of his leg in his quad area above his knee in a bid to help the recovery of her husband of 18 years.
The two also met during the run, with former forward Bobby Zamora sharing a video that saw Terry exchange two kisses with his other half as he looked to soldier on.
John and Toni married in June 2007 at Blenheim Palace in Woodstock, Oxfordshire, in a ceremony which was said to have cost nearly £1million.
Among the guests were footballers Michael Owen, Ashley Cole, Joe Cole and Jamie Redknapp, with ex-wife Louise, while Lionel Richie performed.
The couple are parents to fraternal twins Georgie and Summer, 18. Last year, the couple gifted their twins matching Mercedes cars for their 17th birthday while sharing a throwback video of them driving when they were younger.
The cars appeared to be the Mercedes A Class AMG Line Premium Plus, which cost around £41,000 when bought brand new.

Alongside the former England captain was ex-Chelsea assistant manager Jody Morris. The pair had been noticed by many on social media after they spotted by the cameras earlier on in the route.
Morris could be seen joking that Terry was the one holding them back on Zamora’s story.
After, Terry shared that his friend and former colleague could have gone a lot quicker, but decided to wait for him.
‘Jody was held back by me today,’ he said. ‘He could have been sub 3hr 30min but he waited for me to walk a little bit as well. But we both completed it.’
During the race, Terry was also cheered on by other members of his family, including Georgie and Summer.
They donned big blue signs, with one reading ‘run dad run’, another ‘go JT! Keep running’, and one that ready ‘go baby’ – presumably property of Toni.
Another saw Summer on the shoulders of another man, with everyone there wearing blue shirts to cheer Terry on.
After the race, terry shared another snap of him resting up, holding a cup of tea and packet of Viennese biscuits. He captioned the picture: ‘Going to eat the whole pack.’
