Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum has been ruled out of Game 7 of the first round of the NBA Playoffs against the Philadelphia 76ers this evening.
Tatum, who missed a majority of the season while recovering from an Achilles tear in his right leg, will miss the pivotal Saturday evening matchup due to soreness in his left knee.
He had previously been listed as questionable going into Saturday but was downgraded to out roughly an hour before tipoff.
Tatum left in the third quarter of Thursday night’s Game 6 loss to the 76ers and was seen favoring his left leg.
He did not return to the game that evening, but was spotted sitting on the bench early in the fourth quarter.
By the time Tatum got back, coach Joe Mazzulla kept him seated as the Celtics were trailing by 23 points.
