A hot mic captured the moment a reporter criticized the security arrangements at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, shortly before a shooting forced the evacuation of the event.
On Saturday (25 April), a suspected gunman attempted to storm the black tie event at the Washington Hilton hotel at 8:30pm, with shots fired before he was apprehended by the Secret Service. Nobody was killed.
Between interviewing attendees on the red carpet, a reporter could be heard complaining about the security measures.
“They have like two random chicks holding the front door open. Like guys, they’re not even trying anymore…they’re not even secret service people. It’s like the girls who work here are holding the door,” he can be heard telling another journalist.
