One unlucky Seattle Mariners fan went from the ballpark to the hospital on Friday night after taking a foul ball to the head while recording a video in the stands.

The terrifying moment occurred while the woman, who has been identified as Jamie Golla, was speaking to the camera for a selfie video her friend was capturing in the fifth inning of Seattle’s game against the San Diego Padres.

Out of nowhere, Golla was then left in visible pain when the foul ball flew into the stands at T-Mobile Park and smacked her right on the top of the head.

According to the New York Post, she was taken to the nearby Harborview Medical Center for treatment shortly after the frightening accident.

Golla told the outlet on Saturday that she was ‘feeling a little better than yesterday’ despite suffering minor headaches and her head being ‘a bit swollen’. She also confirmed that no other spectators were injured.

She also explained that a Mariners staff member followed up and checked on her following the accident, while also offering her and her friends tickets to return for a future game.

In a post on Instagram, Golla denied rumors that she was planning to sue the Mariners over the ordeal, instead admitting that she was sat in a section where being hit by a foul ball is unfortunately possible.

‘I never said I was going to sue, because I’m not,’ she wrote on her story. ‘I understand I was at a baseball game and sitting in a section where foul balls can land.

‘My friend invited us to the game to enjoy ourselves and watch the game, and we were paying attention – you can even see my head following the ball in the video.

‘At the time, my friend was recording a quick video response to another friend who had messaged us. Unfortunately, I was hit by the ball, and afterward my friend shared the clip on Instagram lightheartedly.’

Golla added: ‘Yes, I did ask for an incident number, but that was simply so I could provide it to the medical team at the hospital when I went to get checked out. I am not trying to get money or pursue legal action from this situation.

‘To everyone commenting “pay attention to the ball” or “get off your phone,” thank you for the advice.’
