Terrifying scenes unfolded at Yankee Stadium on Thursday afternoon after left fielder Jasson Dominguez was carted off the field following a brutal collision with the wall.
The incident occurred at the top of the first inning after Dominguez, 23, made a stunning catch to rob Texas Rangers star Brandon Nimmo of extra bases.
However, his epic catch came at a cost as, in the process, the Yankees star collided at full velocity with the outfield LED screen around the field’s perimeter.
Dominguez was immediately sent crashing down to the floor and lay motionless for a few moments while teammates and staff quickly rushed to his attention.
Eventually, he left the game on the back of the medical cart and was visibly emotional, with one clip showing him wiping away tears as he exited the field.
The Yankees outfielder was later evaluated by team physician Dr. Chris Ahmad and placed in concussion protocol. He also will undergo an MRI on his left shoulder.

‘Hope he’s OK, the slow motion of this was rough to watch,’ another user online said.

In the aftermath of Dominguez’s injury, he was replaced by Ryan McMahon at third base, which moved Amed Rosario to right field and Cody Bellinger to left.
Thankfully, the injury didn’t derail the Yankees performance on the day.
Heading into the top of the ninth, they were leading 9-2 thanks to a raucous sixth inning which saw them score six runs and take a resounding lead.
