In a week when Sean Bean was spotted watching Sheffield United, Millwall have got in on the act with two Hollywood A-listers of their own in the stands.

Watching the Lions’ 4-0 Championship demolition of Charlton were world famous actors Gary Oldman and Daniel Day-Lewis.

Cameras caught the pair, who have four Academy Awards for Best Actor between them in their illustrious careers, enjoying an afternoon out at the Den on Saturday.

Day-Lewis, 68, was seen wearing orange-tinted sunglasses and a black beanie, while Oldman, 67, was slightly more understated in a flat cap.

Oldman, who won his Oscar for his portrayal of Winston Churchill in Darkest Hour, grew up in nearby New Cross. His father even reportedly played for the club after World War II.

He grew up a Millwall fan before turning his affection to Man United after idolising George Best.

Day-Lewis is a lifelong Millwall fans and was raised in Greenwich in south east London, growing up just two miles from Oldman, though the former was from an aristocratic Kensington family (his father was Poet Laureat).

Day-Lewis picked up his three Best Actor Academy Awards (a joint-record) for My Left Foot, There Will be Blood and Lincoln.

TNT Sports caught up with Oldman last year at a Man United game and Oldman revealed he had drinks with Sir Alex Ferguson.

‘Well that’s one of the great treats,’ he said at the time. We even text each other occasionally, I’ve got the guvnor’s number.

Rio Ferdinand asked: ‘Does he give you tips for his horses?

Oldman replied: ‘No, he keeps those close to his chest.’

Oldman and Day-Lewis chose a perfect game to attend, with the home side dominating in a 4-0 victory.

Kayne Ramsay’s own goal put the Lions ahead before Caleb Taylor added another late on before two more in stoppage time to add gloss to the result.

On Thursday night, fellow Hollywood A-lister Sean Bean was seen at St Mary’s in the away end to watch his beloved Sheffield United lose 1-0 at Southampton.

Bean, who remains a prolific actor and recently starred in This City Is Ours and a TV adaptation of Robin Hood, was born and raised on a council estate in Sheffield.

He achieved a scholarship to prestigious acting school RADA in 1981 before embarking on his career.

Bean has never forgotten his roots and has a ‘100 per cent Blade’ tattoo on his shoulder.

He’s been seen at matches in the past but work commitments mean those can now be few and far between.

And of course Wrexham boast their own Hollywood glamour when owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, who regularly attend their games.

Even though the Championship doesn’t possess the riches and glamour of the Premier League, the second tier is being sprinkled with a hefty amount of stardust this season.
