Harry Kane has sent a warning to his Bayern Munich team-mate Mathys Tel after Manchester United and Tottenham expressed interest in a swoop.
As reported by Mail Sport, United have held fresh talks over a potential deal for the 19-year-old forward with deadline day rapidly approaching.
Tel has tumbled down the pecking order under Vincent Kompany this season and he is thought to be open to a Premier League move this month.
However, Tel rejected a switch to Tottenham despite the club agreeing a £50m fee, and after Daniel Levy reportedly jetted out to Bavaria to speak to the target himself.
United, short on attacking flair under Ruben Amorim, hold an interest and they are attempting to fend off stiff competition to land Tel. Indeed, Chelsea and Arsenal are among the other clubs to have made an enquiry over the teenager.
But Kane believes Tel must choose his next potential club very carefully, insisting regular game time must be his priority when making the decision.

‘Mathys is a great young player,’ Kane said, via journalist Julian Buhl. ‘I have worked with him for 18 months now. He has a lot of potential, works and likes to train hard.
‘He can still improve, but he has the right mindset to do so.
‘Whatever his next step is, the most important thing is that he plays. My advice is that wherever he goes now, he should make sure he gets playing time and experience.’
However, Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund believes Tel may be leaning toward remaining in Bavaria. He said: ‘The current tendency is for him to stay.
‘We are not in concrete negotiations with any club. If anything else happens, we will talk to him. He’s 19, the situation is extreme.’
United are exploring a number of options with Amorim hopeful of strengthening his frontline before the window slams shut tomorrow night.
Marcus Rashford is closing in on a loan move to Aston Villa and the club are understood to recognise the need for a more experienced addition.
As such, Chelsea’s Christopher Nkunku remains a possible target, though he would prefer a permanent move away from Stamford Bridge.

Aston Villa wideman Leon Bailey is also an option on United’s shortlist.
Tel moved to Bayern from Rennes in August 2022 in a deal worth £25m and has scored 16 goals in his 83 appearances to date for the club.
He appeared to wave farewell to supporters after being handed a surprise start in their Champions League victory over Slovan Bratislava in midweek.
But he was then left out of their squad for Saturday’s win against Holsten Kiel.
