Bayern Munich chief Uli Hoeness has heaped praise on England captain Harry Kane and insisted he is going nowhere this summer.

Kane, 32, joined the German giants from Tottenham for £86.4million in 2023, and he has been a revelation, scoring 146 goals in 147 games.

He has been in incredible form in 2025-26, and ended the campaign with a second-half hat-trick as Bayern beat Stuttgart to win the German Cup for the first time since 2020.

Those exploits meant Kane has netted 61 times in 51 matches this time around and came after Bayern also won the league, meaning he has lifted four trophies over his three seasons at the club.

And, speaking after that game, the outspoken Hoeness, who serves as an honorary president, lavished praise on Kane’s impact in Bavaria.

‘Harry Kane is the best transfer we’ve ever made,’ he told German broadcaster Das Erste.

Kane’s form has understandably attracted attention across Europe, and with his contract up at the end of next season, there has been speculation over his future.

There have been reports over a return to the Premier League one day, while Barcelona have also been touted with an interest to replace the outgoing Robert Lewandowski.

However, Hoeness rubbished that noise, and even aimed a thinly-veiled dig at the Catalan giants.

‘FC Bayern is a buying club not a selling club,’ he added.

When pressed on whether he was sure Kane would stay at the club, Hoeness quipped: ‘Yes, and Barcelona have no money anyway.’

Speaking in the aftermath of the victory, Kane was also asked about his own future and potential new contract, yet the England star seemed similarly relaxed on the situation.

‘It’s not the time to talk about that now, but there’s no panic,’ he said.

‘We wanted to hold conversations until the end of the season and we’ve got a World Cup still to play. But everyone knows how much I enjoy it here. That situation is calm.’

Ever since Kane left the Premier League, there was always a feeling that he would return one day, particularly as he is the second top scorer in the competition’s history.

The 32-year-old has 213 goals, behind only Alan Shearer’s 260, but speaking back in October, Kane highlighted his happiness in Germany and cooled those prospects of coming back.

‘In terms of staying longer I could definitely see that,’ Kane said. ‘I have not had those conversations with Bayern yet but if they were to arise I would be willing to talk and have an honest conversation.

‘Obviously it depends on how the next year or so goes, what we achieve together. We are in a fantastic moment and I am not thinking about anything else.

‘In terms of the Premier League, I don’t know. If you had asked me when I first left to go to Bayern, I would have said for sure I would come back. Now I have been there a couple of years I would probably say that has gone down a little bit, but I wouldn’t say I would never go back.’

He continued: ‘I am fully all in with Bayern. If there was a conversation about extending then we will see, but I have still got this season and another season. It is not like I am in my last year, it is not like there is any panic.

‘I am calm, I love the manager at Bayern and as long we are improving and I am improving then I am happy to see what we can achieve.’
