The Suns take on Essendon on Saturday March 8 in their opening match
The club, which is preparing for their opening game of the pre-season, got some positive news on Tuesday with Matt Rowell committing verbally to remain on the glitter strip until the 2026 season is over.
The footy star has been reportedly targeted by several rival clubs, so the news will be a big relief to Suns supporters.
Last week Rowell was pressed by reporters if he’d remain at the club and he seemed less than enthused.
‘Yeah, I think (I’ll stay)’, he said.
‘That’ll happen when we get to it, but I’m just focused on the season coming up and winning our first game.’
