There’s no doubt at all that the last 12 months has been an annus horribilis for ‘the most famous woman in men’s tennis’, Morgan Riddle.
Riddle, 27, is a popular US-born content creator whose other half, Taylor Fritz, is currently ranked world #4.
The glamorous blonde took to Instagram on Tuesday to detail her trials and tribulations of late – including being an electrocuted and surviving an attempted kidnapping in Mexico.
Riddle posted a photo of her damaged hoodie alongside the caption: ‘My hoodie got sucked into the xray at TSA this morning and it reminded me of a few years ago when the one at JFK ate my shoe and we looked for it for 30 mins and then I had to do a 10 hour travel day with a singular shoe,’
‘My eaten shoe got me revisiting the not so glam moments of traveling the last few years, let’s recap.’
Riddle then posted a photo of herself sick in bed, explaining that she’d had bad bouts of food poisoning in Paris, Melbourne and Acapulco twice.

The model and influencer then posted a photo of Fritz holding a tennis racket inside a house. The caption explained that they’d had three break-ins while staying in Airbnbs – all while they were within the residence.
The following clip showed Fritz bench-pressing Riddle while the couple were ‘imprisoned’ in government quarantine in Korea after testing positive for Covid19.
‘Still had to train for the tournament in Tokyo next week,’ she wrote.
Next up, she posted a photo of her badly scratched up legs. Riddle explained that she’d been electrocuted while in England.
Another photo showed her looking very distressed after taking a ‘space brownie’ while in Amsterdam. ‘Ended up crying on the bathroom floor for 4 hours because I thought I was having a heart attack,’ she posted.
Perhaps most distressingly, Riddle’s next post was a video clip of a seaside area from Acapulco.
‘Attempted kidnapping in Acapulco last year (by the man standing behind the tree), she wrote.
‘He and another guy chased me down the beach and I had to sprint and scream for help from the security guards at the hotel.’

‘The tournament did tell us not to go out by ourselves but I wanted a photo of the sunset so this one was also on me lol.’
Riddle made headlines last year at the Australian Open after betting her boyfriend she would eat a ‘jar of Vegemite’ if he won his match against seventh seed Stefanos Tsitipas. Fritz did his part, winning in four sets.
Riddle then uploaded a video to Instagram of her struggling to eat a spoonful of Vegemite following the challenge.
The iconic Aussie brand hit back at the American influencer, questioning why Riddle make the rookie mistake of eating Vegemite on its own.
‘If you’re going to do it, at least do it right. Australia, thoughts?’ their social media team posted on Tuesday night.
She soon responded, posting: ‘Sourdough bread with heaps of buttah?’
Riddle, who has been dubbed as the ‘first lady of tennis’ thanks to her glamorous courtside appearances, defended herself after being accused of ‘overdressing’ at the tournament.

‘I don’t believe you can be overdressed for anything,’ the influencer told Harper’s BAZAAR Australia.
‘No matter where you’re going, overdressing is just a social construct and I prefer to ignore those.’
Riddle was born in Poland but grew up in Minnesota before moving to Los Angeles.
She graduated from New York City’s Wagner College with a Bachelor’s Degree in English Language and Literature in 2019 and then went on to work as a social media director for a fashion brand.
Riddle has said she takes ‘no offence’ to the term WAG other than the ‘negative connotations’ that surround the term in ‘misogynistic sports culture’.
‘Anyone in the position of being a partner to a professional athlete knows how difficult and stressful it is to support someone in their position,’ Morgan said.
‘If people want to disregard me because I’m “just a WAG,” so be it. It’s a privilege to be underestimated.’
Riddle had shot to fame during the Australian Open in 2022 after she posted a ‘get ready with me’ video that went viral on social media.
Since then, she has rebranded herself from a little-known WAG to an influencer and courtside fashion commentator, even hosting a series called Wimbledon Threads in 2023.
