New York Giants star Dexter Lawrence left NFL fans in shock after delivering an unexpected intro on Sunday Night Football.
In typical fashion of the NBC broadcast, starting players on both offense and defense took part in a feature where they introduce themselves and their alma mater.
However, Lawrence took the opportunity to have some fun with it and introduced himself as ‘Sexy Dexy’ when he appeared on screen.
The moment left NFL fans divided – with some finding it hilarious and others claiming it was ‘cringe’ from the Giants defensive tackle.
Initially reacting to the clip, one fan wrote: ‘One of the Giants has the nickname “Sexy Dexy”??????’
Another said: ‘“Sexy Dexy” might be the best intro ive ever heard’
Giants star Dexter Lawrence sent social media into a frenzy after calling himself: ‘Sexy Dexy’

Some fans thought the defensive tackle’s introduction on Sunday Night Football was hilarious
However, not everyone felt that way and made sure to let their feelings be known online
‘Collinsworth being dead serious saying Sexy Dexy is hilarious,’ one said.
However, in contrast, one said: ‘I tuned for a couple minutes, heard ‘Sexy Dexy, cringed, and turned it off’.
Similarly, another wrote: ‘I am begging Chris Collinsworth to stop saying Sexy Dexy’.
During the game itself, Lawrence struggled to make an impact as the Chiefs stormed to a 22-9 victory and extended the Giants’ record to 0-3 for the season.
Patrick Mahomes dominated proceedings at MetLife Stadium and completed 22 out of his 37 passes, threw for 224 yards and had one touchdown.
Meanwhile, his Giants counterpart Russell Wilson struggled to have as much of an impact – completing 18 out of 32 passes for 160 yards.
It’s been a dismal start to the season for the Giants following defeats against the Commanders, Cowboys and now the Chiefs.
They’ll be hoping to end their losing streak next week but will have to get the better of the in-form Los Angeles Chargers in order to do so.
