The internet has been sent into meltdown after a 6’8″, 16-year-old volleyball player went viral.
Footage of high school star Ryanne Brubaker – a middle blocker for Grundy Center – out on the court swiftly circulated social media, with many labelling her a ‘cheat code’.
In clips, the teenager visibly towered over the majority of her opponents and barely needed to jump in order to reach above the net and spike the ball.
Evidently, height runs in the family. Brubaker’s parents previously shared a picture alongside their daughter – who was made to look small in the family snap.
Her parents wore matching t-shirts which read: ‘Tall Daughter Club’.
Brubaker was previously listed on the roster at 6’7″ when she was a sophomore however, now, the Spartans have her listed at 6’8″.

Footage of Brubaker dominating on the court quickly went viral on social media
It’s no surprise, therefore, that the Spartans have dominated the court this year. They currently hold an undefeated 9-0 record during the 2025 season.
And Brubaker has been at the heart of it all. The 16-year-old has recorded 80 ‘kills’ in just 25 sets during the season.
That includes 19 ‘kills’ in two different matches during the season. She did it once against Gladbrook-Reinback before repeating the accomplishment against AGWSR.
While her height alone is impressive enough, footage posted by the Spartans showed Brubaker being able to reach 10’4″ in the air. In an incredible vertical for the teenager.
For reference, the 16-year-old would be tied as the tallest player on the US Women’s National Team – with just one other player standing at 6’8″.
