After closing an investigation into assault claims against New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith, Florida police have now released images of the injuries he and his female accuser allegedly suffered during their reported physical altercation.

Smith, 35, is seen with marks on his face and head, while the woman has distinct bruises on her arm as well as a small, bloody abrasion between her thumb and index finger.

Officers were summoned to Smith’s Davie, Florida mansion on June 21 after a woman claiming to be an ex-girlfriend told officers she was assaulted by the Jets quarterback. The woman also posted a clip on Instagram in which she accused Smith of attacking her and further claimed in a caption that he ‘beat my ass cause he HATES taking care’ of his son.

Nobody was arrested or taken into custody, but police did arrive at the scene to interview both individuals.

Smith denied being in a relationship with the woman, and while he admitted they’d had casual sex, he told police she was the caretaker of his children. He also accused her of entering his home without his consent and trying to take ‘approximately $20 million worth of designer watches and jewelry’ before attempting to flee.

He also claimed she tried to re-enter the home, prompting him to grab her and try to push her away, which is when she allegedly tried to punch him and scratch his face.

Newly released police photos have shed new light on the dropped assault claims against the New York Jets quarterback, Geno Smith

Officers reportedly stated that Smith had two scratches on his face and had a knot on the back of his head.

However, in the incident report, the woman claimed to police that the only reason that she bypassed the security gate drop-off and entered Smith’s home was because he threatened to call police and report her for kidnapping.

She said that once she put Smith’s son in his room, she took a gift that she had initially bought for him and left the residence.

Smith’s accuser claimed he then followed her to her vehicle, took her laptop and $800 from her car and shoved her to the ground. From there, she said she took the watches from Smith’s office in the hope that he would return her items.

The woman alleged that Smith grabbed, choked, and hit her to prevent her from entering his home. Officers observed a cut between the woman’s thumb and pointer finger and a bruise on her left arm. There were no marks to indicate she had been choked.

Officials reportedly made several attempts to get sworn statements from both sides but neither Smith nor the woman ever provided one.

Ultimately officers called off their investigation.

‘No further investigative steps can be reasonably taken with the information presently available,’ read a supplemental case report obtained by ESPN. ‘Any future investigative action is contingent on additional information or evidence being brought forward.’

The Daily Mail has requested the police report and has reached out to spokespeople for the Jets and Smith seeking comment.

Smith has also had several traffic infractions this offseason.

In one, he was cited for driving 25mph over the speed limit, and prior to that, he was allegedly caught with the wrong tags on his car.

As seen in police video from the first incident, Smith was mostly concerned about why the officer ran his plates in the first place.

‘But I’m saying, why’d you read my tag?’ Smith said. ‘You just wanted to? It’s a nice car and you just wanted to?’

When the officer explained his job is to run everyone’s tags, Smith told him to: ‘Do your job better.’

Ultimately, he was cited for attaching tag not assigned and another for failing to carry his license while driving.

Smith is back with the Jets for a second stint after they first acquired him in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft.

The two-time Pro Bowler has also played for the New York Giants, Los Angeles Chargers, Seattle Seahawks and Las Vegas Raiders during his career.

Smith, who won the NFL’s Comeback Player of the Year award in 2022, was traded to the Jets in March along with a seventh-round pick. In return, the Raiders received a sixth-round pick in next year’s draft.
