Gabby Logan has shared why she did not want to have sex with her husband Kenny due to health struggles.
Logan, 51, has been married to her husband Kenny since 2001, with the pair having two children together.
But she revealed her initial concerns that going through the menopause would have an adverse effect on her sex life with her partner.
Gabby, who shares twins Lois and Reuben with her former Scottish rugby player Kenny Logan, explained that she was able to address the problems thanks to the use of Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT).
According to the NHS, menopause symptoms can include hot flushes, mood swings and low mood.
The presenter – who will co-host Match Of The Day with Mark Chapman and Kelly Cates from the start of next season – told The Sun: ‘My libido was definitely affected by the menopause and perimenopause.

‘I found I didn’t want to have sex with my husband as much, and it felt like something I was going to have to do even if I didn’t really want to.
‘It was almost like, ”Is this going to become a duty?” So many women say this and I didn’t want to become one of them.
She added that she wanted to regain her sex drive because her sex life with her husband had always been so important.
As soon as a doctor prescribed her HRT, she said she was relieved and emotional at the prospect of having an improved libido.
In 2022, Kenny and Gabby were faced with another shock in their relationship when the former Scotland rugby star was diagnosed with prostate cancer which required surgery.
In November 2023 while appearing on Anna Richardson’s podcast It Can’t Just Be Me, she said: ‘I felt definitely a massive improvement there and that was important to me.
‘I had a very healthy relationship with my husband and I loved him and fancied him and I couldn’t understand why I didn’t want to have sex with him as much or why it was something that I felt I was going to have to have.

‘I wanted to keep enjoying having sex, not feeling that I was just doing it because it’s part of the marriage contract’.
Gabby regularly goes cold water swimming and finds that the process helps relieve her menopause symptoms.
She added that many women do not realise the effects that sunlight can have on their physical and mental wellbeing.
The presenter encouraged other women to read about the menopause before it happens to minimise the shock of its occurrence.
