Apply for funding to advance aerospace innovation
The Aerospace Technology Institute (ATI) Programme is now open for expressions of interest (EoI) in its latest strategic batch competition. This is your chance to help shape the future of the UK’s aerospace sector and compete for a share of £975 million in funding for research and development.
The EoI phase (phase 1) of the competition focuses on gathering ideas, with funding awarded in Phase 2. To progress, your project must align with the UK Aerospace Technology Strategy.
It must also focus on one of the following areas
- zero-carbon technologies – hydrogen, batteries, or fuel cells
- ultra-efficient aircraft – reducing CO2, noise, and energy use
- cross-cutting tech – from design to end-of-life processes
- non-CO2 solutions – fuel research, aircraft innovations, and operations
In Phase 1, applicants submit their ideas for review by ATI. Successful proposals will move to Phase 2, where full applications are invited for funding in either the Batch 46 Research or Capital strands.
Applications are open to UK-registered businesses, research organisations, and academic institutions. You can apply individually or as part of a collaborative group.
The deadline for EoI applications is 11am on 21 January 2025.
