Jodie Sweetin says Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are still friendly with their “Full House” co-stars years after retreating from the spotlight.

Sweetin spoke about the twins during her appearance on Black Eyed Peas member Taboo’s “Comics and Kicks” podcast Tuesday, noting that they had a different experience on the iconic sitcom given that they were so young while filming.

“Everyone’s on good terms with them, but they were 8 years old when this show stopped,” Sweetin pointed out. “Then they did all of those movies and all that stuff that I don’t know that they really loved doing all the time.”

“So I think, for them, they walked away from all of us at 8 years old,” she added, noting that her own experience on the show was during her “formative years” between the ages of 5 to 13.

Sweetin quipped: “Eight and earlier, you don’t remember all that much.”

“They have a different relationship to being on set all the time. They might not remember being 2 years old and having, you know, us all carrying them around and doing this stuff, but I do,” she continued. “That’s not their thing.”

Sweetin stressed that Mary-Kate and Ashley went on to embrace their love of fashion and disappeared from the spotlight because they “don’t want attention” because acting is “not their thing.”

The twins declined to reprise their role as Michelle Tanner in Netflix’s “Full House” revival, “Fuller House,” which lasted five seasons between 2016 and 2020. The original series aired for eight seasons between 1987 and 1995.

“They had so much and they were so invaded and so for public consumption, I totally understand why they don’t want to do that,” Sweetin said, referring to their child star past.

Mary-Kate and Ashley, now 40, starred in a number of movies throughout the ’90s and into the early aughts, like 1993’s “Double, Double, Toil and Trouble,” 1999’s “Passport to Paris,” 2000’s “Our Lips Are Sealed” and 2004’s “New York Minute.”

The two went on to create their successful luxury fashion brand, The Row, and have been extremely private about their personal lives.

They made a rare public appearance at their older brother Trent’s wedding in May.

Mary-Kate and Ashley appeared in their signature all-black in a family wedding photo posted by Trent and his wife, Alexis. Ashley’s husband, artist Louis Eisner, was also in the photo, as well as younger sister Elizabeth Olsen, who’s currently pregnant with her first child with husband Robbie Arnett.

Back in October 2023, “Full House” star John Stamos revealed the Olsen twins attended their on-screen dad Bob Saget’s funeral, calling their reunion “so beautiful” during his appearance on SiriusXM’s “The Howard Stern Show.”

“[They] got us all together and said, ‘We love you. We loved our childhood. We’re grateful for you guys, we thank you for making those eight years so beautiful for us. We have such fond memories’” he reflected.

Stamos added: “And everyone just needed to hear that.”
