The two best teams in the tournament going head-to-head? Yes please, I’ll have some of that.
Honestly, couldn’t have asked for a much better match-up.
I went on the radio earlier to talk about this fixture and one of the big topics was the contrasting styles of these two nations.
You have France, who have their frightening attack, who can turn you into ash in an instant with their fast, full-throttle attacking approach. Then you have Spain, the best team in the world at suffocating their opponents until teh inevitable happens.
Two very different styles that usually have the same outcome.
Some are billing it as the best attack vs the best defense, and while statistically that is the case, both nations aren’t too shabby in either department. Where I think the game could be won is in the midfield, but we can talk about that later.
All I know is that while it may be a chess match at the start, at some point it will explode into life.
