After being fired by the Miami Dolphins following another tough season, coach Mike McDaniel is expected to be one of the hottest names on the coaching market.
Within 12 hours after his firing, McDaniel had already reportedly been contacted about the job as the Detroit Lions’ offensive coordinator.
But there’s still multiple teams who are interested in his services in charge of a team.
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Cleveland Browns, Atlanta Falcons, Baltimore Ravens and Tennessee Titans have all lined up interviews for McDaniel.
NFL.com says that McDaniel’s interview with the Falcons has already been completed while the Ravens, Browns and Titans interviews have been scheduled.
The 42-year-old McDaniel compiled a 35-33 record while with the Dolphins.

McDaniel went 35-33 in his regular season tenue, losing both his playoff appearances as well
Across his four seasons in south Florida, McDaniel led the Dolphins to just two playoff appearances – both ending in losses.
The first came after quarterbacks Tua Tagovailoa and Teddy Bridgewater both suffered season-ending injury – forcing McDaniel to turn to rookie Skylar Thompson in a freezing 34-31 loss to the Buffalo Bills.
In 2023, the Dolphins once again played in the cold against the Kansas City Chiefs. During one of the most frigid games in NFL history, Miami lost 26-7.
They then proceeded to miss the playoffs in both 2024 and 2025 – going 8-9 and 7-10 in both those respective seasons.
