A year after retiring from football, Joe Hart has called time on his old haircut – and opted for a transplant to usher in a bold new era.
The former England goalkeeper showed off his fresh scalp on Friday as he trained ahead of Sunday’s Soccer Aid match at Old Trafford.
Hart, 38, wore a significantly trimmed cut as he hung out with fellow stars of sport and screen at Champneys Tring.
He wore a huge smile and was regularly laughing as he linked up with David James, Paddy McGuinness, Jill Scott, Jermain Defoe, and Louis Tomlinson among others.
The ex-Man City star, who used to have a shampoo deal with Head & Shoulders, was also seen fitting a Primark suit to go with his new trim.
One giveaway that it is a transplant rather than a cut comes from the slight redness visible, which can come from inflammation after the procedure. It appears that he will retain the shape of his original cut, but has wanted to increase the thickness of his hair.

The four-time Premier League Golden Glove winner now works as a pundit but will be itching for action at Soccer Aid as he represents England against a World XI.
Hart is one of several former internationals along with James, Defoe, Scott, Aaron Lennon, Gary Neville, Paul Scholes, Wayne Rooney, Steph Houghton, and Toni Duggan.
England’s team will also feature plenty of athletic prestige in Sir Mo Farah, Dame Denise Lewis, Sam Quek.
Tomlinson, McGuinness, Bear Grylls, entrepreneur Steven Bartlett, presenter Alex Brooker, singer Tom Grennan, and YouTuber AngryGinge will also take part.
Rooney, Harry Redknapp and Tyson Fury willl serve as managers while James, and actress Vicky McClure.
TV personality Sam Thompson has pulled out of the match and will also act as a coach after a string of injuries, including a calf blow, from his 260-mile Soccer Aid challenge at the start of the month.
The World XI includes, among others, Edwin van der Sar, Carlos Tevez, Nemanja Vidic, Harry Kewell, and Tony Bellew.

Hart retired at the end of last season and launched immediately into his punditry commitments, joining the BBC for Euro 2024.
A successful playing career saw him win five major trophies with City (including two Premier League titles) and 75 England caps.
He finished off with three seasons at Celtic, where he won seven trophies including three Scottish Premiership titles.
And he is far from the first football name to go down the hair transplant route, following in the footsteps of Rooney, David Silva, and Landon Donovan.
