Footy WAG Dee Salmin has revealed the details of a horror car crash while driving at 18.
The 31-year-old confirmed that the accident caused numerous facial and jaw injuries as well as breaking both of her legs.
Salmin also had to spend months in hospital during her recovery due to the severity of the injuries suffered.
Part of the recovery process involved the podcaster learning to walk again.
She was also left to pick up the pieces of her life alone, disclosing that Salmin and her partner at the time had separated during the recovery period.
During the conversation, Salmin credited the response of a male nurse who was driving by who stopped to help with her injuries.

The accident, where the car collided with a tree, left Salmin with multiple facial fractures and two broken legs
She also revealed how she had to learn to walk again during the months of recovery that followed
Salmin though was left to face the challenge alone after separating from her partner after the accident.
Darcy Moore and Salmin have recently moved in together despite the latter insisting she would avoid moving in with her partner for as long as possible
Speaking to the inheritedthepod Salmin opened up, revealing, ‘My partner and I were, like, driving and I like said to him, do you mind if I drive, I feel so tired I can’t drive.
‘And then he was like I’ll do half, I’ll drive half the trip. Because he wanted to start drinking.
‘I think within 15 minutes, basically the tyres veered onto the gravel, and the tyres just locked and I blacked out, I don’t remember it happening but I went straight into a tree.
‘And was kind of like upside down crushed against the tree and my legs were completely smashed and I couldn’t move, and I couldn’t move my neck.
‘I didn’t know at the time but I’d broken all my jaw.’
‘He had to jump out of the car and try and stop someone as they were driving past.
‘The first person didn’t stop, she basically said she couldn’t handle it and so she kept driving.
‘Luckily the second person was a male nurse, I’ll never ever forget him, but he held my hand underneath the car and I think people like that are lifesavers, and people who work in those fields are incredible.
‘He stayed with me for the whole three hours it took to cut me out of the car.
‘I flew in a helicopter to Royal Perth and went through the emergency system and yeah it just took months for recovery.
‘It took a long time to recover and during that time my partner and I were separated and I just put love on this pedestal.
‘I thought that that time of your first love it would be like you and them against the world and you would do anything for each other and I learned quite quickly that wasn’t really the case.’

Salmin has since found love with Darcy Moore recently telling the Sydney Morning Herald that the two had moved in together.
‘We had lots of conversations about what [living together] would look like and how it would work, and it’s been really fun,’ she said.
