- A-list star was filming a movie in Melbourne last year
Emerging AFLW player Grace Belloni has revealed why Hollywood heartthrob Zac Efron was a regular at her house when he was filming a movie in Melbourne.
Essendon rookie Belloni, 18, who impressed in her debut against GWS on August 16, was living in Olinda, a town 40km east of Melbourne’s CBD in the Dandenong Ranges.
Her dad’s best friend is renowned zero-waste guru Joost Bakker, who Efron is also close with.
When he was in town last year, the famed actor wanted a place to work out in private, so he got in touch with Bakker.
‘Joost called me and said, “Zac is here for a few weeks and needs somewhere to go to the gym”. He (Bakker) knew I was into fitness. He asked if I had anywhere to work out,’ the midfielder told AFL.com.au.
‘I said he (Efron) can come to my family house, because it has a big home gym and sauna.

Belloni (pictured) said it was ‘weird’ to have the Hollywood star at her house
‘It is so weird to think he (Efron) was at my house, which is now my uncle’s place. He was so great.’
Belloni – who was recruited by the Bombers with pick No.9 in last year’s AFLW Draft – is a player to watch.
Her idol is Collingwood star Bri Davey – and many good judges believe Belloni could be just as dynamic.
In August last year, news emerged Efron was making plans to build a ‘sustainable’ home on a property on the NSW north coast.
The star of High School Musical and Baywatch bought the bushland getaway near Byron Bay for $2million in 2020.
A development application (DA) was submitted to build an off-the-grid ‘zero waste’ six-bedroom, two-storey pad on the 128-hectare space for $2.685million.
Efron’s name was not on the application paperwork, which was lodged with the Tweed Shire Council.
Instead, environmental activist Bakker was named on the documents as the ‘proponent’ of the DA.
But Efron’s name was still used as titleholder on the property.
His home is located in rugged bushland near Tomewin, 75km from Byron Bay.
