Footy commentator James Brayshaw has dobbed in his famous colleagues live on air as he light-heartedly had a dig at them for having too much to drink at the AFL’s Gather Round footy festival in Adelaide.

The Triple M and Channel Seven star went through a list of his co-workers on Saturday and didn’t hold back as he named and shamed those who’d hit the drink a little too hard.

Brayshaw read out a message he’d received from footy broadcaster Joseph ‘Joey’ Pignataro who asked him to ‘get your freak mates out of my joint’.

He said he asked Pignataro to specify who he was talking about, then listed the culprits.

‘Warren [Triple M producer Ryan Warren]: pi**ed.

‘Brownless [ex-Geelong great Billy]: pi**ed.

‘N. Brown [Nine and Triple M star Nathan Brown]: unable to operate.

‘Barrett [journalist and Nine star Damian]: pi**ed.’

Brayshaw then explained why he didn’t help Pignataro.

‘I said, “Joey, the only problem with that is if they leave your place, they’ll come to the place where I’m going to be at,” – which is exactly what happened.

‘They wander into Bespoke [an Adelaide wine bar] … I had to ask the question as to how any of you were let in.

‘Like how are you letting these people in? They’re not fit to be in a room.

‘Then one of the big bosses of the AFL, who was there, came up to me. He said, “You need to start assessing the group of people you’re mixing with. They’re not to be mixed with.”

‘I said, “Mate, I know!”

‘Normally I’m on the other side of this fence. I’m sober, looking at these fools’ heads who are unable to operate as people.’

Brayshaw’s take on events was greeted with laughter by Brownless, Barrett and his other panellists.

‘You’re normally right in the middle with your red wine swishing. Swirlo the merlot,’ Brownless replied.

Many footy fans who took to the comments section when the clip was posted to Facebook and Instagram said Brayshaw also looked the worse for wear as he named names.

This year’s instalment has so far seen some excellent clashes, with the Adelaide Crows kicking things off by beating Carlton at Adelaide Oval on Thursday night.

Collingwood fell to Fremantle in a one-goal loss on Friday, with Brisbane beating a spirited North Melbourne side in Saturday’s first match.

That was followed by Essendon finally breaking their duck with a huge upset over the Melbourne Demons, and Sydney triumphing over Gold Coast in a top-of-the-table clash at Norwood Oval.

Saturday’s last game saw Hawthorn stamp themselves as one of the competition’s teams to watch this season as they brought the ladder-leading Bulldogs back to earth with a 40-point victory.
