Carolina Panthers star Jaycee Horn was involved in a car accident outside the team’s stadium on Wednesday morning, according to the team.
A statement from the Panthers confirmed the first-round NFL draft pick – who recently signed a four-year, $100million deal – would miss practice after the incident.
Horn – who was alone in his vehicle – was evaluated by Panthers medical staff and it was decided that the cornerback would sit out of the joint practice with the Browns.
No timeline has been given for when he might return. The Panthers have their preseason opener on Friday, which may come to soon for Horn.
According to a team spokesman, no one involved in the incident was transported by emergency medical personnel.
Panthers coach Dave Canales is expected to address the media after practice.

The incident occurred just outside the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte
Back in March, Horn put pen-to-paper on a lucrative $100million deal which made him the highest-paid NFL defensive back, at the time.
In 37 career starts, Horn has totaled five interceptions, 26 passes defensed, two sacks and eight tackles for loss.
Horn said after the final game of the season he couldn’t ‘wait to come back’ and get to work ahead of the 2025 season, which he will play on his scheduled fifth-year option as a first-rounder in the 2021 draft.
Horn was a Pro Bowl selection for the first time in 2024 and played 15 games.
Injuries have impacted his availability since he played just three games as a rookie and 22 of a possible 51 games during his first three seasons in the NFL.
