FENERBAHCE ‘DENY’ MAKING BID FOR CHERMITI
Reports from Turkey have denied that Fenerbahce had a £13million bid rejected by Rangers for Youssef Chermiti last week .
The Portuguese youngster joined Rangers for £8million-plus add-ons from Everton in the summer and he has only scored four goals in 25 appearances across all competitions.
News of the offer from Turkey had surprised fans when the story broke on Tuesday night.
Now, however, it would appear that Fenerbahce are looking to distance themselves from a potential transfer for the 21-year-old.
Rangers’ Youssef Chermiti in action against Ludogorets in the Europa League
Turkish journalist Erdem Akbas – of A Spor – had been reporting on the speculation and he revealed: ‘Fenerbahçe club officials contacted me regarding the news.
‘Youssef Chermiti was brought up on the recommendation of his agent, but there was no interest. This name is not on their lists.
‘Fenerbahçe management is focused on high-profile names for the striker position.’
Rangers have also reportedly rejected an offer for Djeidi Gassama from Monaco.

STRIKER HOGH LINKED WITH CELTIC SWITCH
Celtic have made an enquiry for Bodo/Glimt striker Kasper Hogh but face competition from a number of clubs across Europe, according to Sky Sports.
It’s reported that the 25-year-old remains a target for Norwich City and that Høgh’s future will be decided later this week after their Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid.
Høgh scored twice last week in Bodo/Glimt’s 3-1 Champions League win over Manchester City.
Celtic after still desperate to add to their squad in this transfer window.
