HSENI is supporting the Farm Safety Foundation during Farm Safety Week 2026
The Health and Safety Executive for Northern Ireland (HSENI) is supporting this year’s Farm Safety Week campaign funded by The Farm Safety Foundation (Yellow Wellies), which highlights the impact that serious and life-changing injuries can have on farmers, their families and agricultural businesses.
HSENI, as a member of the Farm Safety Partnership, is encouraging those working in agriculture to consider the risks before beginning any task and to take practical steps that could prevent incidents with long-term consequences.
Farm Safety Week also aims to encourage discussion about risk management and to promote practical actions that support a safer agricultural sector.
This year’s Farm Safety Foundation’s objectives are
- stop and think before starting any job
- avoid unnecessary shortcuts
- maintain machinery and equipment in a safe condition
- work safely around livestock and moving vehicles
- use appropriate equipment when working at height
- discuss daily tasks and potential hazards with family members and workers
- carry a mobile phone while working
