Fans have slammed Austria’s defending after they conceded less than a minute into their Euro 2024 last-16 clash with Turkey.
Turkey came out of the traps quickly from kick-off and won a corner after Arda Guler’s pass to Baris Alper Yilmaz was intercepted by Philipp Lienhart.
Austria failed to clear their lines from the corner and Merih Demiral pounced to finish from close range after just 57 seconds.
And Ralf Rangnick’s men, having been lauded for their performances in the group stage, have now come under huge scrutiny from fans on social media.
One said: ‘That defending was just terrible. Given how Austria attack games, there should hopefully be a great game coming now’.
