Football fans have hailed a new broadcast initiative as and ‘amazing game-changer’ following coverage of Chelsea’s Club World Cup win on Monday evening.
The Blues got their campaign off to the perfect start in Atlanta, beating LAFC 2-0 in a comfortable first group stage match.
Pedro Neto and Enzo Fernandez were on the scoresheet for Enzo Maresca’s side, who are one of only two Premier League clubs in a tournament being played in the United States over the next few weeks.
The competition is being broadcast live on DAZN, and one particular part of the coverage on Monday caught the eye of viewers, who heaped praise on the broadcaster’s initiative.
New footage has emerged of Neto’s goal in the 34th minute of the game, which saw the forward played in by Nicolas Jackson after good work from Cole Palmer in the middle of the pitch.
DAZN, meanwhile, have released the footage of the goal, which shows it from referee Jesus Valenzuela Saez’s point of view – an angle dubbed referee cam.

The angle has been dubbed referee cam, and saw official Jesus Valenzuela Saez wear a camera on the side of his head
The footage showed a goal from Pedro Neto, who was fed the ball by Nicolas Jackson before cutting inside his man to score
The Venezuelan, who wore the camera next to his ear, can be seen getting close to Palmer in the middle of the pitch as he tries to keep up with play, before the England forward plays in Jackson.
Jackson then passes the ball to Neto on the right, with the referee initially getting ahead of play before rushing to try and catch up with Neto.
Neto then cuts inside his man and scores, with the referee then turning to point to the centre circle to signal a goal.
He then watches the celebrations, before looking down at his watch to check the time of the goal and potentially see the length of the delay for the goal.
Fans lauded the footage on social media, with one writing: ‘I don’t care what anyone says the ‘Ref Cam’ at the CWC is absolutely amazing. Game changer.’
Another added: ‘They should have an option to watch the entire game via the ref cam.’
A third wrote: ‘We need this implemented into every league!’
The Blues’ next game is against Flamengo on Friday, while they will also take on ES Tunis of Tunisia in the group stage.

Chelsea, meanwhile, have once again been linked with a signing from Ligue 1 with Lyon winger Malick Fofana the latest youngster in their sights.
Fofana, 20, has been the subject of discussions between Chelsea and the French club although no formal offer has been submitted, according to reports.
The latest interest comes after Chelsea were recently linked with Lorient midfielder Arthur Avom.
According to French outlet L’Equipe, Fofana is under contract until 2028 but a significant offer could tempt Lyon into cashing in.
