Newcastle defender Dan Burn is set to be rewarded for his brilliant season with a new contract.
The 33-year-old’s current deal expires in 2026 but talks have taken place over an extension and we understand terms have been agreed.
Burn was included in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for the June internationals on Friday, keeping his place after making his international debut in March.
That came just days after his goal in the Carabao Cup final as Newcastle ended their 70-year wait for a domestic trophy with a 2-1 win over Liverpool.
Burn has been outstanding for his club this season, and Eddie Howe said this month: ‘If you had written a dream season, it would have been very close to this for Dan.

‘The goal in the cup final, that was the best header I have ever seen him deliver, then very quickly he had the England call up and debut. They were very special moments for him and fully deserved.’
Burn joined his hometown club from Brighton in January 2022 and has made 146 appearances, scoring eight goals.
