Former Minnesota Vikings captain Jack Brewer is voicing support for FBI Director Kash Patel after federal agents seized records and other suspected evidence as part of the Trump administration’s ongoing investigation into alleged fraud by the state’s Somali community.

No details about the findings have been released. Search warrants were served at more than 20 childcare centers across the Minneapolis area, according to KSTP-TV, which said one team of agents used a battering ram to enter a building.

‘Americans should celebrate today,’ the 47-year-old former special teams star told Fox News. ‘Finally, we have an FBI that is actually sticking up for the poor in this country and stopping this corruption that’s happening in Minneapolis and the surrounding areas, where they’re robbing, literally robbing, the orphan, the widow, and those in poverty.

‘Thank God Kash Patel and the federal government are stepping in, because they are the only ones who will even attempt to police this place. Minnesota will not police itself.’

A former University of Minnesota safety who played four NFL seasons, Brewer went on to a successful business career and was named a professor at Fordham Gabelli School of Business, where he works as Director of the Athlete and Artist Programs.

The Texas native and former Barack Obama supporter has also become a favorite at CPAC and even helped secure pardons for Lil Wayne and Kodak Black from President Donald Trump.

More recently, he’s focused himself on allegations of fraud against childcare centers in Minnesota, many of which are run by Somali immigrants and their American-born descendants. Under an investigation launched by the Biden Administration, 65 individuals, many of whom are Somali-American, have been convicted of defrauding a federal program aimed at providing food to children.

While Brewer accused Minnesota’s government of failing to police itself, Democratic Governor Tim Walz welcomed the federal raids on Tuesday. What’s more, Minnesota’s child welfare agency shared information with federal law enforcement.

The raids were carried out by various state and federal agencies, including the Department of Homeland Security, according to The Associated Press.

‘We catch criminals when state and federal agencies share information,’ Walz said. ‘Joint investigations work, and securing justice depends on it.’

But speaking to Fox News, Brewer described Minneapolis and many ‘liberal cities’ as ‘completely lawless.’

‘They will not, by any means, police themselves — at the state level, the local level, or the city level,’ he said. ‘All they do is let people get away with crime after crime after crime, no matter if it’s violent crime or white-collar crime.

‘What can you do to actually go to jail in Minnesota? If you look at it, they have some of the shortest prison sentences, they let people right out of jail, and it becomes a free-for-all. It is a complete free-for-all.’

Tensions have been mounting between Trump and Walz, who recently abandoned a bid for a third term as governor. Trump has also attacked Somali immigrants as ‘garbage’ and having a ‘low IQ.’

Brewer did not use dehumanizing rhetoric against all Somalis, but did attack those accused of fraud in Minnesota.

‘They prey on vulnerable people,’ Brewer said of the accused fraudsters.

‘I believe they get into these networks and pass it on amongst each other — how to steal from the US government and how to exploit the very people those programs were created to help. Those people are gross. They are robbing the people who need help the most and turning suffering into their own personal business model.’
